As I told you on the blog’s Facebook page, I have never tried such a cake before, nor did I know about its existence. I had milk and wanted to make something. It had to be an essential ingredient. I often visit foreign culinary sites on the Internet, and I found this one there too ? As I heard, it is quite an old recipe. I did not postpone the preparation and started in a few hours. It doesn’t take a lot of time, and in a maximum of 1 hour, it is already baked and served on a plate.

Hot milk cake


  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking powder (or 1 tsp baking soda)
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 140 g butter


  • Beat the eggs for 5 minutes with a mixer at high speed. Then add sugar and beat well again, the mass should become very light yellow, almost white. Add vanilla and mix well.
  • Then sift flour and baking powder (or baking soda) and mix with a mixer on low speed.
  • Heat the milk and melt the butter in it. Then add to the batter and beat with a mixer at low speed. You will get a slightly thinner mass than the batter to be poured.
  • Heat the oven to 180°C degrees. Grease the baking form with oil and place the batter. Bake for about 30 minutes.
