Hummus’s homeland is the Middle East, but it is popular worldwide. Although its preparation varies, and thousands of ingredients are added, chickpeas, tahini paste, garlic, and lemon juice are its essential components. Today, I will teach you how to prepare a classic version of hummus, which will take only a few minutes. Hummus can be used in sandwiches, served with pita or slices of vegetables.

Classic Hummus
Ingredients
- 3 cups chickpeas (boiled or canned )
- 1/3 cup tahini
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 lemon juice
- to taste salt
- 3-4 pcs ice cube
- extra virgin olive oil (for serving)
Instructions
- Put chickpeas and finely chopped garlic in a blender or food processor and blend for a few minutes.
- Then add ice, tahini paste, lemon juice, and salt, and turn on the blender. When you get the creamy mixture, it is ready.
- If you want your hummus to be a little thinner, you can add hot water and blend again for a few minutes.
- While serving, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with some chickpeas, and arrange olives (optional).Bon Appetit!
Notes
If you use canned chickpeas, be sure to rinse the water.
