Today I brought you a video recipe for a very beautiful, effective and delicious dessert. I have been wanting to make a jelly cake for a long time and I was looking for a special recipe, I chose this one and changed only one detail, it should have a layer of cherry instead of orange, and I think it would have been better, although it is very tasty.

The third, chocolate and toasted walnut layer was especially liked. The preparation in the video recipe looks good, but before you prepare it, be sure to read the text recipe as well, I will write everything in more detail here.

3-layer jelly cake

Total Time 5 hours 30 minutes
Servings 8

Ingredients

  • 250 ml sweet orange juice
  • 400 g sour cream
  • 200 g sugar
  • 68 g gelatine powder
  • 120 ml cold water
  • 300 ml boiling water
  • 2 g vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts

Instructions

  • Add 28 g of gelatin to the orange juice, stir, and let stand for 1 minute. Then pour 3/4 cup (180 ml) boiling water, stir well, and transfer to a mold. Put it in the refrigerator for 1.5 hours.
  • Meanwhile, beat 200 g of sour cream with 1/2 cup (100 g) of sugar and 1 g of vanilla, the sugar should dissolve completely. Leave the mixture until the first layer hardens, that is, for 1.5 hours. (To make sure your layer has set, shake it, and if it doesn't start to move it's ready to pour another layer).
After this time, dissolve 20 g of gelatin in 1/4 cup (60 ml) of cold water, and after 1 minute, pour 1/4 cup of boiling water and mix well, add it to the sour cream mass, mix it with a hand whisk and pour on the first already solidified layer. Put it in the refrigerator for 45 minutes.
  • In the meantime, prepare the third layer, for this, beat the remaining 200 g of sour cream, 1/2 cup (100 g) of sugar, 1 g of vanilla, and cocoa, and let it rest until the second layer hardens. Before that, roast and chop the walnuts.
  • When the second layer hardens, dissolve 20 g of gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water, and after 1 minute, pour 1/4 cup of boiling water and mix well, add to the sour cream mixture, mix it with a whisk, add walnuts, mix and pour on the hardened second layer. Refrigerate again for 45 minutes.
  • If you make it in a glass jar, put the jar in hot water for a few seconds and then take it out easily, you may need to scrape the sides with a knife. If you make it in a silicone mold, then take it out carefully.
    Bon Appetit!
