Burgers are exceptionally popular all over the world, and our country is no exception. I have received many requests in my personal messages for its recipe, so on the 7th anniversary of the blog, I am sharing this recipe with you.

This will be a perfect recipe, where you will find out how to prepare the fluffiest burger bun, as well as the most delicious sauce and meat.

How to make a delicious burger at home

Ingredients

For the Buns:

  • 450 g flour
  • 7 g yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (250 ml)
  • 50 ml water
  • 40 g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 75 g butter (room temperature )
  • 1 whole egg
  • 40 g sesame seeds

For the Sauce:

  • 100 ml mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 tsp dried onion
  • 1/3 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste salt & black pepper

For the Patties:

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • to taste salt & black pepper

Additionally:

  • 50 g iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 5 slices of cheese
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 pickles
  • 40 g butter (room temperature)

Instructions 

Buns:

  • In a bowl, combine warm milk and water, add sugar and yeast, and stir until dissolved. Cover with a tea towel and let rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, place flour, add salt, and the risen yeast mixture. Knead the dough by hand for 4-5 minutes or use a stand mixer for 2-3 minutes. Gradually add butter in 2-3 stages and continue kneading until the dough is soft and non-sticky. Coat with a little olive oil, cover with a tea towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Transfer the risen dough to a floured surface, shape it into a round form, and divide it into 8 equal parts. Shape each part into a round ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, keeping them 3-4 cm apart to avoid sticking during rising.
  • Brush the dough balls with beaten egg twice: once before rising and once before baking. Cover with a tea towel and let rise until doubled in size.
  • Brush the risen dough balls with beaten egg again, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (374°F). Place another form with about 1 cup of water at the bottom of the oven to create steam, which will help make the buns airy and fluffy. Bake for 15 minutes, remove the water form, and continue baking for another 10 minutes.

Sauce:

  • Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Patties:

  • Add the remaining ingredients to the ground beef and mix well. Shape into round patties; this amount should yield 5 patties.
  • Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side (you can use a grill, grill pan, or regular pan). After flipping the patty, place a slice of cheese on top about 2 minutes later to melt it and enhance the flavor.

Assembly:

  • Cut the burger buns in half, butter each side, and toast them on the grill/pan for about 40-60 seconds.
  • Spread sauce on the inside of both bun halves. Place the patty on the bottom bun, followed by a thin slice of tomato, pickle slices, and iceberg lettuce. Cover with the top bun, and your burger is ready.
