Finely chop onion and garlic. Peel the ginger and grate it finely.
Heat the pan, add oil, saute onion for 5-6 minutes, add garlic and continue sauteing for 1 minute. Then add ginger. In 30 seconds add peeled tomatoes and water, and mix well.
Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and blend. Add well-washed lentils and cook for 20 minutes, stirring as often as possible. During this period, the lentils will be cooked, do not overcook them. Add water if necessary.
